In an effort to exorcise the ghosts of the atrocities in Chile after the 1973 coup, this text extends the blame for the defeat of Allende to more than just the U.S. intervention and the Chilean military. In this text, the author emphasizes the role played by the left and extreme left, who enticed revolt by wanting change to occur rapidly, rather than in a more stable and democratic fashion.
