This article describes the first Iranian feminist in the modern history of Iran. Fatemeh Zarrin Taj Zakieh Baraghani was born into a religious family in 1814 in Iran. After receiving an education, she dared to offer her new vision of women's rights. Also, she was the first Iranian Muslim woman known to unveil herself in public. Her life story and her tragic assassination are well known to Iranians throughout the generations.
