The NFLC e-Learning Portal houses an expansive catalog of language learning and assessment materials: over 7,000 items in dozens of languages and dialects.

For easy searching, items in the Portal are tagged by language, difficulty level, modality, topic, type, learning objective, and publication year. You can bookmark items and save your list of bookmarks as a PDF to use in the classroom or for personal study.

Advanced Language Courses for Government Service

The National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland has leveraged its decades of experience supporting government partners and developing courses, learning materials, and assessments in over 100 languages to deliver advanced language courses specifically tailored to the government’s needs. 

Refresher Courses in Russian, Persian, Korean, and Chinese (Mandarin)

Our language refresher courses are open to everyone and designed for learners with at least intermediate proficiency who want to strengthen and refresh their skills through engagement with authentic, timely, and culturally rich materials. Through regular interaction with course content and active participation in live sessions, students reinforce their core language competencies and develop greater accuracy, fluency, and confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
